Bachpan Adventure Stories (B.A.S.)

Memory… Well, ususally it evades me.
But some incidents of my childhood have been etched in my memory as if they were yesterday’s events…

Those who know me would agree to a certain extent that I am a decent girl. Ahem….well…nearly.

In my growing up years I have experimented with so many things that may not be called ‘that’ decent! As a child, I loved deflating the tyres of my neighbourhood uncle’s car... What joy it gave me!! My eyes still gleam with those wicked ideas...

Ting tong! Ting tong ting tong ting tong! That’s what people heard one evening when their doorbells were taped… irritated and frustrated they came yelling at whoever they thought was responsible for the prank… No prize for guessing! It was none other than the ‘most decent’ girl in the block…MMMMMEEEEEEEE!!

Have you ever tried running away from your home at the age of 3? Believe me, it’s immense pleasure and adventurous.... I am so sure because I have experienced it! Well, opportunity came knocking at my door..Well, literally! The door was open…unguarded… I simply walked out. I was later found at the corner shop in the next ‘gali’… the walk was amazing! It just cost my brother a few palm imprints on his cheeks (he was ‘supposed’ to take care of his lil’ sister!), a few panic calls to my uncles and a tense situation at home!!

You know, I almost got qualified for the ‘Below 10’ short put event! I remember playing with my childhood friend Soni when all of a sudden we decided to play a different game! The new game was to throw a brick {used for construction purpose} as far as we could and the winner would win laurels for themself... quite simple you see! I took the brick and concentrated on my target... the other side of the road…my eyes and the target….the target and my eyes… nothing could distract me… I was all prepared for my throw and I knew for sure that I would succeed… 3…2…1… and there it came… flying … and landed on Soni’s head who was standing behind me!! I had won!! Yippee!! Yes... won her mother’s wrath! Still remember the dingy corner of my block where I hid for half an hour to escape the blast that would follow!

So folks, that’s part-II of my ‘Bachpan’ Adventure Stories (B.A.S.)! Hope you too revisited your childhood days too, in the process.

I dd this at 3 !!

well, this being my 1st blog, had 2 begin on A HAPPY NOTE!

still wondering as to how to begin, let me outline my 'blog structure'! we tend 2 get philosophical n nostalgic while blogging. My blogs wud b a mix of all those n also crazy write ups, funny anecdotes and frustrations!

lemme finally begin my happy note! This was wen i was all of 3! it was so fascinating 2 c my dad shave each morning with that foamy froth covering his cheeks... n within moments, a razor cleaning all like a bulldozer clearing a snow covered road! being the ever -so-curious lil girly, i had 2 try it out!

i waited.... for the crowd 2 dwindle away... waited hawk-eyed.... yes, no one was watching... up i get on a stool to reach the wash basin... n then, it was sooooooooooo simple! i squeezed the shaving cream to smear on my cheeks n without foaming it, i took a razor n wiped the snow away!

everything went absolutely normal except that the snow turned red in a few seconds!~ i had earned a life long mark on my right cheeek !!

MORAL Of tHE STORY: Shaving is an absolute necessity ONLY if your gender, age n cheeks permit it !
